St Helens Labour Council is successfully positioning the Borough as a key location for the UK’s life sciences sector, with global leader Bachem choosing St Helens to host its national UK Peptide Symposium this June at the World of Glass Museum.

Investment and Innovation

This prestigious conference, which will attract leading experts, is a direct result of the Labour Council’s strategic investments in the Life Science Innovation Zone and the £1 million transformation of the World of Glass Museum, partly funded by the St Helens Town Deal.

Labour’s commitment to creating world-class facilities is driving this growth:

  • Project Halo: Delivering state-of-the-art R&D laboratory and production spaces (‘Tech Box’ units) specifically for Life Science industries.
  • Town Centre Regeneration: Including a future 120-bedroom hotel to support business and visitor numbers.

This event underscores the Labour Council’s successful strategy to combine St Helens’ heritage with future-focused, high-value industries, ensuring inclusive growth and investment for the borough.
