It has been confirmed that Children’s Services have been rated Good by Ofsted, with services for care leavers rated Outstanding. This is huge progress from the Inadequate rating received at the last inspection in 2019.
Councillor Nova Charlton, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, has responded to this fantastic news: “We are delighted to see the hard work that has been put into transforming children’s services has been recognised by the inspectors. Improving the standards of care for families and young people has been a key priority for us since the inadequate judgement and the support from our committed staff, partners and families has shown that together we have been able to improve.
“It is great to see the voice of children is clear in all the work we do and that they are the focus so that our children are given the greatest chance to have a good start in life which builds better opportunities for our future generations.”
We thank Nova and everyone involved for all their hard work! Labour will always put children first.
