The new Willow Bank School in Newton-le-Willows is now officially open, welcoming pupils and staff from the old Penkford School.

Council Leader David Baines, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People Cllr Nova Charlton, and Newton East ward Councillors Jeanie Bell, Keith Laird and Deputy Leader Seve Gomez-Aspron visited the school and had a tour courtesy of Headteacher Anne Kyle.

Students and staff moved in before Christmas following completion of the council-funded £7m project.
