The leaked video shows Downing Street staff laughing about the party

Leaked footage has emerged of Downing Street staff joking about the alleged Christmas party held in no.10 on 18th December last year:

Labour leader Keir Starmer has reacted, saying:

People across the country followed the rules, even when that meant being separated from loved ones. They had a right to expect the government was doing the same.
To lie and to laugh about those lies is shameful.
We have a Prime Minister who’s socially distanced from the truth.

Council Leader David Baines says: “Last Christmas was difficult for everyone. It was a Christmas unlike any other, with contact between families and friends restricted and many social activities banned, including Christmas works parties.

On 18th December, as hundreds died alone, cut off from their loved ones, and as people up and down the country did the right thing and followed the rules, there was a party held in Downing Street. As bad as that is, what’s arguably worse is that staff laughed about at the time, and for a week now the Prime Minister and senior ministers have lied about it happening.

They clearly believe it’s one rule for them and another for the rest of us, and they’re treating the British public like fools. Nothing less than the resignation of the Prime Minister and the removal of his gang of cronies and crooks will be good enough. They’re a danger and an embarrassment to our country.”
