Leader and Cabinet have been promoting #LetsGetTested

Labour Council Leader David Baines, Deputy Leader Sev Gomez-Aspron and other senior councillors were among the first this week to take advantage of the community testing now on offer at three sites across the borough.

Tests for those without symptoms are now available at St Mary’s Market, Grange Valley Youth Centre in Haydock, and Chester Lane centre in Sutton.

Cabinet Member for Public Health, Anthony Burns, says: “The more asymptomatic people take part in this testing, the more positive cases we can find and the quicker we can stop the spread in our communities. I want to thank the Yorkshire Regiment for their outstanding support in getting these centres set up, and our public health officers for their great work.

Let’s get tested and get back to normal as quickly as possible.”
