Thousands of residents enjoyed Newton Town Show this weekend, taking in entertainment including stunt displays, a huge fair, helicopter rides, and dozens of stalls hosted by our amazing local community organisations and businesses.

The event is organised by Newton and Earlestown Community Group. Labour’s Cllr Sev Gomez-Aspron, one of the key organisers, says: “It’s an honour to chair the committee for the seventh year running, and once again the show was a roaring success! I need to say a massive thanks to THINK!, Newton RLFC, Kenny Jackson for the Classic Car Show which had over 100 entrants this year, the volunteers from NECG and everybody else who made the day happen, especially the Park Ranger Service who are key to making the day happen.

Around 10,000 people passed through the park on the day, and shows what can be achieved with public and business support. Bring on 2020!”
