Represetatives from St Helens Labour spent today at a series of meetings with Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram and Councillors from across the City Region, discussing priorities for the coming year and how to make devolution work for our communities.

Among those attending the day were Council Leader David Baines, Deputy Leader Cllr Sue Murphy, City Region Deputy Portfolio holder Cllr Kate Groucutt, Merseytravel representatives Cllr Paul Pritchard, Cllr Mancyia Uddin and Cllr John Wiseman, and City Region scrutiny panel member Cllr Robyn Hattersley.

Council Leader David Baines says: “Today was very positive and it was great to be there alongside colleagues from St Helens Labour who will be representing our borough on Merseytravel, scrutiny, and other bodies.

This is an exciting time for St Helens and the City Region. Devolution is a terrific opportunity, and Labour are committed to working with Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram and friends from other authorities in order to make the most of it.”
