Mayor of St Helens Borough Cllr Lynn Clarke, Council Leader David Baines, Marie Rimmer MP and Labour councillors from across the borough were among the special guests and crowds at this year’s Armed Forces Day event.

Held once again in Victoria Park, the event attracted hundreds of residents who enjoyed a parade, children’s fairground, classic car show, music performances and more.

Council Leader David Baines says: “Armed Forces Day is a terrific opportunity for us to say thank you to all our Forces and Veterans. As a borough we are very proud of our Forces, and as a council we are determined to do all we can to support them.
