Today is International Worker’s Memorial Day, and the event was marked with a special service at the Worker’s Memorial in Vera Page Park featuring speakers including Councillor David Baines, Conor McGinn MP, Marie Rimmer MP, the Royal College of Nursing and the Fire Brigades Union.
#StHelens was built on the toil, effort, and – too often – the sacrifice of working people. Today and always we remember those who lost their lives at work, and we reaffirm our commitment to fight for the living.
