The 18 cherry blossom trees that we have planted around the borough, like those pictured at Sankey Valley in Blackbrook and Victoria Park in Windle, now have commemorative plaques to remember those who lost their lives to Covid and to thank those who fought, and continue to fight, the pandemic.
The plaques read:
“In memory of those who lost their lives during the coronavirus pandemic.
In recognition of our grief and loss and to give thanks to all who worked tirelessly to battle Covid-19.
