Work has begun on the demolition of Chalon Way car park in St Helens town centre.

Council Leader David Baines says: “The removal of the car park will open up the historic canal area which for far too long has been hidden and neglected. This is just the start for St Helens town centre. It won’t happen overnight but we are determined to make sure we have a town centre we can be proud of, and one we deserve.”
