Cabinet have today approved the St Helens Town Improvement Plan:

Heritage, Glass Futures, a youth zone and connectivity are at the heart of the transformational bid which will now be submitted to government.

Council leader David Baines says: Thank you to all the private, public and third sector stakeholders who took part in the Town Deal Board which produced this bid, chaired by John Tabern. There are too many to mention, but they’re all a credit to St Helens and I look forward to continuing to work with them all.

It will now be up to government to decide whether to back these ambitious and exciting plans, which alongside the council’s partnership with English Cities Fund will transform St Helens town centre and bring benefits for the whole borough.”
