A summary of the amazing community and volunteer effort in Newton-le-Willows

38,000 meals delivered! That’s one of the amazing totals reached so far by volunteers from Newton and Earlestown Community Group, including Labour councillors Sev Gomez-Aspron and Jeanie Bell.

Cllr Sev Gomez-Aspron says: “As we move to a system supporting those shielding and suffering from serious illness from next week, here’s the final summary of the project so far.

We’ve delivered close to 12 tonnes of food for free which equates to around 38,000 meals during the period the project has run for.

We’ve met some fantastic people in heart wrenching situations and been able to help them.

We couldn’t have done that without your support. So thank you. And I’m sure those we have helped say thanks too.”
