Newton Council Sev Gomez-Aspron says: “24 hours ago, Newton and Earlestown Community Group set up the donation page so that we can buy some stock through charity wholesale for Newton Community Fridge – Nobody Should Be Hungry to deliver to those in most need.
This should then give us a bit of breathing space. We don’t like asking other community groups for money because we know they work as hard to earn it as we do. Everyone is having it tough.
Within 24 hours, a bit of mithering, and some scrounging, YOU have raised £2000!!
Massive thanks. It doesn’t solve the demand problem, but gives us enough space to restock and regroup after a week of helping loads of families.
